From Waste to Wonder: Art and Fashion for the Future
Sustainable Fashion Exhibition and Show at ParkLake Shopping Center
From November 17 to 30, 2025, ParkLake Shopping Center will be the scene of an event that combines art, fashion and sustainability: From Waste to Wonder: Art and Fashion for the Future, a project signed by the Elite Art Association and co-financed by the National Cultural Fund Administration (AFCN). The exhibition brings together the works and clothing creations made during the artistic and textile upcycling workshops held in recent months at Elite Art Gallery. Objects, installations and fashion pieces created from recycled materials offer the public a new perspective on the relationship between consumption, resources and creative expression.
A highlight: The November 20 Fashion Show
On November 20, starting at 6:30 PM, a special event will take place in Main Square, ParkLake: the From Waste to Wonder fashion show, which brings to the podium sustainable creations developed within the textile upcycling workshops coordinated by Sabina Georgescu.
Hybrid Muse is a post-industrial collection of upcycled outfits created by Laura Bonciu, Daniela Ciobanu, Csata Orsolya, Louis Jamal, Andra Marcu, Maria Popa, Alexandra Sârbu, Andreea Ștefan, which rehumanizes fashion through craft and sustainability. From recycled denim and textile scraps, the artists have reconstructed the meaning of beauty through imperfection, where each stitch becomes a scar, each piece, a testimony of slow resistance to fast fashion. Craft is manifest, and collective creation a gesture of restoration and memory. The collection reflects how used clothes can become a source of inspiration, style and awareness, transforming the act of recycling into a statement of identity. “It is never too late to stop over-consumption, to remember to make minor repairs to clothes that are meaningful to us, in principle, not to immediately throw away everything that is broken. Creative solutions can be found for any problem.” (Sabina Georgescu)
The Art of Transformation – From Waste to Creative Expression
The exhibition in ParkLake will also include installations and objects created during artistic upcycling workshops, coordinated by Alexe Popescu, the mentor who encouraged participants Călina Gavrilă, Luca Cristina, Valeriu Petrache, Ionuț-Adrian Drinceanu, Andrei Crângău and Ana Neculicioiu to rethink everyday materials through an aesthetic and conceptual filter. “In upcycling, materials are used in their original state, through non-polluting processes. Thus, in the same object we have a permanent dialogue between its previous and present life.” (Alexe Popescu)
Through this project, the Elite Art Association aims to bring to the forefront the power of art and fashion to generate social change, encouraging a dialogue about responsibility, consumption and sustainability.
