Classical music for all: violinist Alexandru Tomescu and guitarist Dragoș Ilie, at ParkLake Shopping Center in Bucharest

Radio România Muzical and ParkLake Shopping Center resume the events dedicated to cult music in Main Square ParkLake.

Friday, October 4, at 7:00 p.m., the famous violinist Alexandru Tomescu and the guitarist Dragoș Ilie, a revelation of recent years on the national and international stages, propose a concert entitled “Classical music for all”: well-known works for violin and solo guitar, but also original arrangements for violin and guitar, a rarely explored but extremely spectacular repertoire.

Alexandru Tomescu and Dragoș Ilie collaborated for the first time in 2022, during the Stradivarius tour, when they presented sonatas for violin and guitar by Nicolo Paganini. In 2021, Dragoș Ilie was the joint winner of the Musical Heirs of Romania scholarship, offered by Radio Romania Muzical and Rotary Club Pipera; also Radio Romania Muzical recommended him for the collaboration with Alexandru Tomescu, which led to highly successful concerts at national and international level, but also to two masterclass sessions held at the Caraiman cabin in the Bucegi Mountains, restored to the tourist circuit by Alexandru Tomescu.

Classical guitar and violin: two beloved instruments and two extraordinary musicians – Alexandru Tomescu, the most famous and beloved Romanian violinist, and Dragoș Ilie, from Iași who has just brilliantly completed his studies in the United States of America and returned home, for to teach at the “George Enescu” University of Arts in Iasi. Dragoș Ilie is the laureate of over 40 international competitions, among the most difficult and relevant in the guitar field.

Entry to the extraordinary concert performed by Alexandru Tomescu and Dragoș Ilie is free.

At the end of the concert, the two protagonists will offer autographs on their own records, published by the Casa Radio Publishing House and under the logo of the Remember Enescu Foundation.

Radio România Muzical and ParkLake have organized other events in the past aimed at bringing cult music to the general public: another three of them featured the violinist Alexandru Tomescu, and others brought the members of the Children’s Choir to ParkLake Radio, on the violinist Răzvan Stoica and Kamerata Stradivarius, on the Radio Chamber Orchestra, conducted by Constantin Grigore, soloist Irina Sârbu.

Since 2018, Radio Romania Muzical has also been running the “Listen to 5 minutes of classical music” project at ParkLake: every day of March and October, a piece from the classical repertoire is included in the playlist that visitors hear. The project also takes place between October 1 and 31, 2024, thus making the month of October “Classical Music Month” at ParkLake Shopping Center in Bucharest.
