AstroShow 2024 – A Fascinating Cosmic Journey
On September 21, ParkLake will become a real observatory under the open sky with the debut of AstroShow 2024, an event dedicated to exploring the mysteries of the universe. Starting at 18:30, participants will be invited to explore the night sky through state-of-the-art telescopes, which will provide impressive images of the planets and stars.
Among the highlights of AstroShow 2024 are the planetary observations, which will begin after 8:30 p.m., when attendees will be able to admire Saturn’s spectacular rings in all their glory. Discovered by Galileo Galilei in 1610, these fascinating structures continue to amaze and captivate the imaginations of generations of astronomers and stargazers.
In a first for Romania, the event will host the revolutionary Planeterrella stand, created by young researchers from the Institute of Space Sciences. This innovative device will give participants a fascinating look at the formation of plasma and auroras, opening a window into one of the universe’s most mysterious phenomena.
Another major attraction will be the “Telescope Monster,” a giant 400mm mirror telescope that will allow for a detailed exploration of the sky. With the help of this impressive equipment, participants will be able to observe the craters of the Moon, the planet Jupiter and the globular clusters in extraordinary clarity.
In addition to the astronomical observations, the renowned astronomer and eclipse hunter Cătălin Beldea will give interactive presentations, offering unique perspectives on the formation of the Sun and the planets of the Solar System. The audience will have the opportunity to discover exclusive details about his expedition to observe the April 2024 total solar eclipse in America and explore the most exciting astronomical phenomena through questions directly to the expert.
For the youngest explorers, Professor Trăsnit will transform science into educational play, involving children in interactive experiments covering chemistry, physics and astronomy. This will be a unique opportunity for little ones to explore the world of science in a fun and educational way.
AstroShow 2024 aims to challenge curious minds by organizing interactive sessions where the best questions will be rewarded with special prizes. Each participant will be encouraged to test their knowledge and discover as much as possible about the universe that surrounds us, turning the event into a memorable experience for everyone present.
