CSR Campaign “School Backpack”
Every step matters, every gesture inspires – ParkLake supports education through movement and solidarity
In August, ParkLake Shopping Center becomes the place where movement, generosity, and solidarity come together in a campaign dedicated to supporting education. Under the umbrella of the “School Backpack” project, ParkLake invites visitors to contribute to reducing educational inequality through donations of school supplies and by participating in a charity run. Between August 11–24, ParkLake becomes a space dedicated to solidarity. In the Main Square area, a special donation box will be placed for collecting new backpacks and school supplies, which will be donated to children in rural areas with limited access to educational resources.
For school supply donations, we suggest the following items:
-
Backpack (medium size)
-
Equipped pencil case with: HB pencils, eraser, sharpener, small ruler, fountain pen or gel pen, colored pencils, markers
-
Notebooks: lined, math, music (with staves)
-
A4 drawing pad (thick paper), colored A4 sheets (thin and cardboard)
-
Watercolors (gouache or tempera) + brushes + water container
-
Glue stick + white glue
-
Scissors with rounded tips
-
Folder with plastic sleeves
The campaign is part of a large-scale national charity project coordinated by Interact and Rotaract District 2241. In 2024, this initiative mobilized over 85 clubs from 41 cities, resulting in €94,000 in donated products and funds, supporting over 3,100 children from 68 schools and placement centers. ParkLake continues the “School Backpack” campaign with a charity run on August 11. To mark the start of the “School Backpack” campaign, a 5 km charity run will take place on August 11, starting at 7:00 PM, with the start and finish line in the garden of ParkLake Shopping Center. The route is accessible to all categories of participants, from amateur runners to families and groups of friends.
Participation is free, and at the finish line, each runner will receive a voucher for a drink offered by Ted’s Coffee. Through the Alergado app, everyone involved can contribute to the goal for August: 250,000 kilometers gathered throughout the month, transformed by ParkLake into 280 fully equipped backpacks. These will be donated to children in rural areas with limited access to educational resources, as part of the shopping center’s commitment to supporting education. Every step thus becomes a concrete gesture of solidarity and support for education.
